Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is the daughter of an ethnically diverse family in South London in England. Her father is Nigerian Swiss as is her mom who's English. Her family was raised in a south London council estate, and went to The Brit School at age fourteen. She graduated with a BA in acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. While at school she appeared in numerous stage plays, such as King Henry V's princess Katherine or Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe started her acting career by starring in a movie titled Storm Damage. In the years since, she's had appearances in guest roles for Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's breakout came with 2007's Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream. It was co-starring Colin Farrell (who played the part of Cassandra) as well as Ewan McGrath. In the wake of that film's success she was cast as Elisha in the single-episode BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN, and appeared in the six episodes of Trexx and Flipside as Ollie. In the ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl saw her in 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe was also the main character on How to lose friends & alienate people that was aired by Sony Pictures Entertainment in the year 2008. The credits on stage for Madekwe are Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe made her US debut in the series The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show ran just two episodes on The CW, and was then removed from the air. Ashley Davenport, a character in ABC's Revenge drama, was chosen as Ashley Davenport. Madekwe was a regular in the ABC drama series Revenge during two seasons. It was revealed in May 2013 that she was set to be leaving the series following a guest episode in the initial season of the third. The actress portrayed Tituba in the television series Salem between 2014 and the year 2016. Madekwe was married to her long-time partner, Iddo. They have worked together in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl in the past, and Goldberg was also on the show with Madekwe on the TV show Salem.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress, was raised in a huge family from Hamilton, Ontario. Her parents Roy and Patty, as well as the four brothers of her, Brett, Todd, and Bram, were all present. Ashley's brothers, who were all very physically active, were all playing hockey in the winter and baseball during the summer months, which means they grew up mostly in arenas and baseball parks. Ashley could not walk but was able to dance. This led to the fact that as she grew older when she was two, she began to learn about Baby Ballet. Ashley began to develop a love of dancing when she began Baby Ballet. Until she graduated from high school, Ashley danced competitively in the top divisions in ballet, tap, jazz pointe, acrobatics musical theatre, lyrical, and hip-hop. Ashley won the best soloist prize at each major dance contest, which included International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, to name just a few.
